Gloria Campa - Golden Apple Honoree

The West San Gabriel Valley Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region XV held their annual Golden Apple Awards, honoring outstanding individuals whose dedication and support makes an extraordinary impact on local schools, students and families.

As part of Region XV of ACSA, Mountain View School District was pleased to honor Gloria Campa as its Golden Apple recipient.  Gloria has been a valued member of the MVSD team for many years, serving first as a volunteer parent dedicating hundreds of volunteer hours, and for the past 10 years as Monte Vista School’s Community Liaison where family engagement is always at the forefront of her professional priorities.

Gloria is highly committed to supporting families in need, whether it is to link them to community services or to provide them with vital moral support.  At Monte Vista, she has pioneered numerous successful family engagement programs and events including the monthly Family Engagement Writing Project, Family Literacy Night, Art Family Night, and most recently the SBAC (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium) Achievers Rally.  She has successfully fostered health and wellness among students and families by creatively transforming fundraiser rewards into fun activities such as Karaoke with Mrs. Campa and Fitness Carnivals.

Gloria is highly trusted and respected by parents, staff, administrators, and the community at large.  She is a shining star that Monte Vista and the Mountain View School District truly treasures.

MVSD administrators and board members joined in the ACSA Golden Apple Awards ceremony held at the Elks Lodge and were thrilled to be there to honor Gloria.

“Gloria is a wonderful asset to Monte Vista and our entire District and we truly appreciate the dedication she shows to our students and families.  She is an outstanding Community Liaison and very deserving of the Golden Apple award,” said Lillian Maldonado French, MVSD Superintendent.
