Treasure boxes, pirate ships and gold adorned the Mountain View Family Center as the Mountain View School District honored its parent volunteers during the pirate themed Volunteer Recognition Celebration. The dedicated volunteers enjoyed brunch and were presented with certificates of appreciation for their outstanding service during the 2022-23 school year.
Certificates were presented to the top volunteers from each of the school sites and the Head Start State Preschool program who have contributed 100 plus volunteer hours this school year. Board of Education members and district administrators were on hand to thank and congratulate the volunteers for their exceptional service.
“Thank you for all you do for our students and schools each day,” said Dr. Raymond Andry, superintendent. “We appreciate your partnership in ensuring a positive educational experience for all of our students, and together we will continue to inspire each student to succeed every day.”
Priscilla Figueroa, Director of Family Engagement and Migrant Education thanked the volunteers for having hearts for service.
“Your involvement is vital to the success of each of our schools and our district programs and the important work you do benefits our students greatly,” said Figueroa. “The support and assistance you provide enhances our District profoundly and we are extremely grateful for your dedication and effort.”
MVSD’s volunteers provide tremendous support to the schools in a variety of ways through assistance in classrooms, playground supervision, field trip supervision, office assistance, decorating for special events, fund raising, and participation on district and school site committees. They also provide valuable input for the development of the District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). Additionally, the Parent Leader group regularly leads classes and workshops for parents throughout the District. The volunteers are an integral part of the Mountain View team and are treasured for their exceptional dedication.
