Celebrating the Lunar New Year, schools in MVSD held parades, assemblies and activities to usher in 2022 and the Year of the Tiger.

Students at Twin Lakes School celebrated with a traditional Dragon Parade.  Led by Mandarin Enrichment Program teacher, Jenelle Chou, the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders marched and danced around the playground with signs, noise makers, paper lanterns, hats and more to celebrate this important holiday in the Asian culture.

At Maxson School, fourth graders created origami tigers, drew some very impressive tigers and created beautiful Chinese lanterns to display in their classrooms.

Thanks to a donation by Fresh Start Meals, every student and staff member in the District received a traditional red envelop with a lucky candy in it wishing them good fortune, good luck and happiness for the coming year.
