Students Support Census with Chalk-a-thon

Students Support Census with Chalk-a-thon

Students throughout MVSD participated in the District’s Census Chalk-a-thon, drawing creative pictures conveying support for filling out the 2020 Census.

“Our District has been supporting the Census efforts and we want to do all we can to make sure everyone is counted,” said Priscilla Figueroa, MVSD’s Director of Family Engagement.  “The chalk-a-thon was a fun way to get our students and families involved to encourage everyone to fill out the 2020 Census and make Mountain View and the community count.”

Student artists were required to include “Everybody counts” and “2020census.gov” in their chalk artwork and once complete, their masterpieces were shared virtually.

“Our students and families did a great job creating some beautiful chalk art on sidewalks, driveways and block walls that promoted the importance of filling out the Census,” said Figueroa.

The Census 2020 deadline has been extended to October 31.  By completing the Census, you are helping to ensure funding for schools, hospitals, housing, nutrition and health programs in our communities.
