Mountain View School District’s Parent Volunteer Recognition Celebration honored the outstanding volunteers from the District’s eight schools and parent leadership group.

The barbecue themed celebration included certificates of appreciation for the top 10 volunteers with 100 plus hours from each school, a delicious lunch and a raffle. District and school administrators proudly joined in the celebration to thank and congratulate the dedicated volunteers for their outstanding service this school year.

“It is wonderful to be here at our beautiful Mountain View Family Center to celebrate our incredible parent volunteers and our amazing team of Community Liaisons,” said Dr. Raymond Andry, Superintendent. “Thank you for all you do and the tremendous service you provide to our schools and our students.”

Principals from each of the schools presented their volunteers with certificates and shared their gratitude for their service.

“We are so lucky to have such a wonderful group of volunteers at Parkview and we appreciate all of you so very much,” said Donelle Soto, Parkview principal.  “Thank you for your love and hard work.  We could not have made it through this school year without you!”

MVSD’s volunteers provide tremendous support to the schools through assistance in classrooms, playground supervision, field trip supervision, office assistance, decorating for special events, fund raising, and participation on district and school site committees.  They serve as parent leaders in the District’s award-winning Parent Leadership Academy, and also provide valuable input for the development of the District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).  They are an integral part of the Mountain View team and contribute greatly to the success of the schools, students and entire District.

“The District provides many opportunities for us to volunteer and take an active role in our child’s education,” said Salvador Limon, parent volunteer.  “Along with volunteering at schools and on committees, there are many classes and workshops offered for parents that focus on technology, social emotional learning, college readiness and leadership that we can participate in.”

Concluding the celebration, Priscilla Figueroa, Director of Family Engagement and Extended Learning, expressed her appreciation to the volunteers.

“Thank you for the vital role you play as educational partners and the important work you do in our schools.  Your service and support continue to enhance our schools and we are extremely grateful for your dedication and partnership,” said Figueroa.
