Madrid Robodogs Compete at Legoland

    In their first time participating in a Lego League competition, students in Madrid Middle School’s Lego League, known as the Robodogs successful showed their skills taking Honorable Mention at the  FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) Lego League Competition at Legoland in Carlsbad.  The Robodogs, coached by teacher, Edita Vasquez, represented their school and the Mountain View School District excellently as they developed, designed, built and coded Lego Mindstorms robots to perform missions during the competition.  The team was successful, earning an Honorable Mention award and placing 11th out of 44 schools in attendance.    

     “We are very proud of our Robodogs for their dedication and hard work and for representing our school so well in their first ever competition,” said Cesar Flores, Madrid Middle School principal.  “I know they will continue to perfect their skills and perform well in future Lego League competitions.”

      In addition to Lego League, Madrid Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) instruction and extracurricular activities including robotics, SeaPerch underwater robotics, video production, coding, gaming and more.
