MVSD Celebrates the 100th Day of School

Students in the Mountain View School District are 100 days smarter as they celebrated reaching the 100th day of the 2018-19 school year last week. They marked the special day with a variety of fun activities that emphasized the number 100 including dressing up as 100-year-olds, designing and wearing t-shirts and hats commemorating the 100th day milestone, creating beautiful artwork using 100 items, counting to 100, collecting 100 items and parading and dancing around the playground.

Everyone was very excited to reach this scholastic milestone and are proud of the tremendous learning that has taken place during the past 100 days.

“The 100th day of the school year is a fun day that represents a milestone moment for our students, teachers and staff,” said Melissa Brown, principal at Miramonte Elementary School.  “It’s a little more than half way through the school year and we are all amazed at how much the students have learned and we are very proud of their efforts.”

Proudly wearing a t-shirt stating “My First Graders are 100 Days Smarter!” Maxson Elementary School teacher, Diana DeCamp reminded her students of all they’ve learned over the past 100 instructional days including learning about nouns, verbs, diagraphs, how to read, how to write, how to take a math timed test, how to be more responsible and how to be a better friend and student.

Students were excited to see their teachers and staff members at their school celebrating by dressing up as wonderful 100-year-olds as they incorporated math and other lessons around the 100 theme.

It was a fun day celebrating the fact that MVSD students are 100 days smarter and reflecting on the incredible amount of learning that took place over the last 100 days!
