Principal's Message

Dear Kranz Parents and Students:

My name is Sean Grycel, and I am proud to be the new principal of Kranz Intermediate School. I previously worked in the Mountain View School District from 2004 – 2007 as the Dean of Instruction at both Maxson Elementary School and Madrid Middle School. I have been a principal in the Bonita Unified School District for the past eight years at both the elementary and middle school levels. It is with great enthusiasm that I return to the Mountain View School District, especially to Kranz Intermediate School! I am looking forward to supporting our students, staff, parents, and community as a whole. I believe that together we can develop the partnerships necessary to support our students in achieving at their highest levels academically, artistically, athletically, and socially.

I am coming to Kranz with twenty-two years of experience as an educator at both the elementary and middle school levels. I spent my first eleven years as a classroom teacher in upper elementary and middle school, and I also served as an athletics coach and teacher coach. I have spent the last eleven years as a school site administrator. I have a genuine passion for supporting students in getting the best possible education they can. Providing a wide variety of opportunities for our students is a cornerstone for their development.

I can’t wait to get started at Kranz, and I look forward to meeting each of you very soon. As I officially begin at Kranz on July 1 please feel free to contact me anytime. My email address is It is going to be an awesome 2015-16 school year! In closing I would just like to say, “Go Cougars!”
