MVSD offered a 3-day Summer Institute for certificated staff members from all grade levels. The conference-style
professional development included 41 offerings
over the 3 days. Sessions included Thinking Maps, Google Apps for
Education, Visual and Performing Arts, Next Generation Science Standards,
Environmental Education, Project-based Learning, Number Talks, Argument Writing
and Health/Wellness. Additionally,
the Summer Institute provided a planning day for the district's SEAL Cohort II
teachers in PK- 1st grade to plan their first instructional thematic unit
and be ready for the new school year.
