Superintendent's Message
I am honored and excited to be the superintendent of this exceptional school district. I look forward to working in partnership with students, staff, parents and our community to strengthen MVSD’s commitment to make a difference in the life of each student we serve.
As I’ve had the opportunity to visit various schools and departments in the district, I’ve been extremely impressed with the dedication and professionalism of our team of teachers, support staff, administrators, and board of education members. Throughout MVSD a solid foundation of academic instruction is enhanced with our team’s commitment to provide all students, from preschool to eighth grade, with an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages creative, high level thinking, fosters values, diversity and collaboration and responds to each student’s individual needs.
Mountain View has been recognized for many great accomplishments and I am excited about what still lies ahead for us to achieve. MVSD is a strong and vibrant district and by working together we can become even stronger. The current economic climate will test the best of our resilience and creativity. However, I believe when we work collaboratively we can make incredible strides. As we cope with the catastrophic reductions in education funding from the state we remain committed to maintaining the outstanding educational programs for our students.
The responsibility of preparing students for life is one we take very seriously. It is a great honor to serve the Cities of El Monte and South El Monte and MVSD’s 8,600 students and their families. We hope you find the information on our website helpful and we encourage your involvement in supporting our schools and district as we assist all of our students to reach their highest potential.
Sincerely,
Lillian Maldonado French Superintendent
