The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is hosting the Expo to recruit new foster and adoptive families for abused and neglected children.  Currently there are approximately 8,000 children in L.A. Superintendent's Message

In the Mountain View School District our mission is to inspire each student to succeed every day and ensure that each student attains or exceeds academic proficiency.  MVSD’s 12 schools, alternative education center and Children’s Center/Head Start program are strongly committed to high expectations and improved student achievement at all grade levels.

MVSD is comprised of an excellent team of educators and support staff who believe in each student’s ability to achieve.  Our team is dedicated to preparing today’s students and tomorrow's leaders for success by providing core academics with 21st century skills.  Through innovative instruction students are encouraged to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, good communicators and collaborators, technology literate, innovative, creative, and globally competent.

A college-bound culture is promoted district-wide among all students and with our parents through a variety of programs including GEAR Up, the Partnership Scholars Program, Parent Institute for Quality Education and No Excuses University, all focused on inspiring future collegiate scholars.

In Mountain View, our strength lies in our highly qualified employees, rigorous curriculum, dedicated parents and caring community, each focused on the educational development of our students, providing them with a solid foundation of skills they may take forward into our ever changing world.

Ms. Lillian Maldonado French

MVSD's Free Mobile App for Smartphones and Digital Devices

The Mountain View School District’s free mobile app is available to download from the App Store and Google Play Store under Mountain View School District. Click here for more information.

MVSD has partnered with ParentLink to develop a free custom mobile app that provides important news and student information at the user’s fingertips.

The app provides a personalized window into what is happening at the district and its schools.  Once the app is downloaded, you will be able to get news and information to stay informed and involved.  The app allows you to view district and school news, use the district tip line, receive notifications from the district and schools, and access the district directory.

In the future parents of students in kindergarten through 8th grade will be able to access their child’s grades, attendance and assignments through a personalized account.

Information on the free mobile app will be presented at each school’s Back to School Night.  We encourage you to take advantage of the free app and download it now.
